~Happy Thanksgiving~

O Lord, with humble hearts we pray
Thy blessing on this Thanksgiving Day
And ask at this table place,
Where grateful folk say words of grace
That thou will come to share the yield
Thou bounty gave to farm and field.
We pray thy love will bless,O Lord,
Each hearth, each home, each festive board;
And that thy peace will come to stay
Where candles glow, Thanksgiving Day.

Colorful Country Kitchens

It dawned on me that it had been awhile since a "Kitchen Post".

While on my search for the perfect kitchens to share with you all, a theme started to form.

Color.

So,while these are not the typical country kitchens,

I thought it a good idea to share them with you all.

(not quite sure how I feel about a black sink, though
very interesting.)

(I do honestly think if I had this kitchen that I could give up drinking coffee in the morning, just walking into this kitchen would be enough to get me wide awake!)
Any Favorites?
Any that you detest?
Let me know....
Have a great day, Ladies!

Sittin' and Knittin'

I was thinking of naming this post "Scarf Obsession" however since I did manage to whip out a hat, I will pretend that I am not currently obsessed with making scarves.

The scarf pattern that I am using to knit up some Christmas gifts is a Lion Brand Pattern and can be found on their website under the name The Williamsburg Scarf.

The Hat is a Beret Pattern from the book, Head to Toe Knits.

Only This Time of Year...

Can you buy Peppermint Ice Cream!
For some odd reason some Marketing Specialist somewhere thinks that people only eat Peppermint Ice Cream from after Halloween till New Years.

So, My love of this divine icy creation must be contained till now.....

Manly went to the freezer the other day and said "Oh! You got two of the same kind of Ice Cream from the Schwans' Man"

To which I replied "Yup"

Manly: "Did you mean to?"

Me: "Yup"

Manly: "Oh,Why?"

Me:"What Flavor is it?"

Manly: long pause.... "So, this is the only flavor we are gonna have in this house till after the New Year then?"

Me: "Yup"

So,as you can see, I am practically obsessed with it, however if they would only have this flavor year around then this wouldn't be an issue.....maybe....

The Sniffles

Dear Sweet Reader,

I am so sorry for my absence.

Manly and I spent a good portion of last week and all of this weekend with what I will delicately call "the sniffles"
We still are not 100% however I do believe we are on the mend.
A couple of good things came from this time, I have had lots of time to knit.
Finishing a couple of scarves and a hat, which I promise to share pics of very soon!
Also, While sitting on the sofa with Manly and a huge box of kleenx between us as we lustfully watch commercials for Theraflu and Dayquil, he turned to me and said "You are beautiful"
To which I scoffed, and he said "Really, you are"
Now I could leave out the part where he also had a 103 temp and was most likely delirious, but I pride myself on honesty.
But, it was still quite sweet.
I provide the picture below because
A) we have been drinking LOTS of tea the last few days (Cold Care Tea, Honey Lemon Tea,Chai Tea)
and B) I didn't think you wanted to actually see the pile of empty Kleenex boxes and spent tea bags lying around the house.
So, we will just pretend this quaint picture below is my house....
Yeah,right!

I have missed you all dear Blog-y friends and look forward to catching up on all your posts!
I also have a question for all you Knitters/Crocheters out there:
What type of knitting/crochet needle do you prefer?
Metal, Wood,Bamboo, Plastic,Other?
I know that there is so many choices out there and as I was knitting the other day, I was curious to as what my friends like to use.
I have a tendency to lean toward the old-fashioned metal needles, however I recently found a pair of plastic needles that I swear were the first plastic knitting needles made that I really enjoy using.
I have tried Bamboo and Wood, However the yarn doesn't seem to "glide" off the needles like I am used to.
But, maybe its because I learned on the metal needles.
Look forward to your answers and promise to post again soon!
