How I love thee....
Autumn is truly my favorite season.
Though living where I live now, I am afraid that my heart misses the usual signs.
Living in the land of no trees, I truly do miss the changing of the leaves.
Not only that, even though I am thankful for the produce, I have been inside putting up peaches, pears, tomatoes, day after day for a week now.
Of course, in between our bean harvest and sugar beet harvest.
All I really want to do is slip on my cozy sweater and Frye boots....
Take a stroll down this road...
Have a bit of lunch and warm apple cider at this spot...
I am usually quite content with my life, folks, but this time of the year, I do long for another place...a place with trees and where things are slowing down, not this place where the only sign of fall is my brown lawn and the absence of the husband from dawn to dusk....I long for the land of autumn....

I hope you find joy in the weekend and manage to get to walk in a park and perhaps make a dish with lots of vegetables.

Fall is my favorite, too. The pictures you shared are so pretty, I feel like I spent most of my adult life wishing I were somewhere else for fall. My friend used to send me colorful leaves she pressed from her yard, I could send you some if you'd like!
ReplyDeleteI love Fall too...this part of the country you need to look a bit harder to see it - it's very subtle, that's why I'm jumping on a jet plane - I'll go to the "Fall" because it's not here in my own backyard.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos,,,I'll collect some leaves and mail them to you..but first - you'll get your fish key!!
Just found your blog tonight, and it's so cheery and comfy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteFall is my most favorite season, too- I think it's easy to feel an almost 'homesickness' this time of year just yearning for the beautiful and comforting and cozy picture of fall we have in the mind's eye- even if we love where we are at!
I hope you're able to find what you're looking for right where you are~
yes, autumn is my favourite season also, the changing colours, different smells etc...but this year I have been robbed, not only of autumn but summer too, just one VERY long damp cool, dark season, I am really tired of it.
ReplyDeleteI really envy you having so many peaches, tomatoes etc etc. too......
Oh well I suppose none of us is completely satisfied with our lot!!!?
I have beautiful green countryside, I'm 300 yards from the beach etc etc so why am I moaning??

I love fall too!! Our leaves are not changing yet, but soon.
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly like you do! I lived in the Midwest for 10 years before returning to California and miss miss miss the Fall. I do find small ways to notice it where I live now, but it's not the same. Love your boots!!!
ReplyDeletePS Love the new look the the blog :)
