I love tea.
Both herbal and caffeinated.
I try to slow down and have of a cup of tea now and then.
When I do, my favorite tea is Earl Grey
I just adore Earl Grey tea.
I have a cute shaker and glasses and feel like such a retro house wife when I make and greet Manly at the door with a Martini now and then.
There is just something fun in the process of making one.
So, long story short, when I saw this following recipe, I knew that this was going to be my new favorite mixed drink.
And I was right.
In honor of the royal wedding tomorrow (or really quite early in the morning for most of us)
I am sharing this recipe.
~Earl Grey Tini~
1 whole lemon
5 Earl Grey Tea bags
8 ounces of your favorite dry British gin ( I use Bombay, but Hendricks would be yummy too)
4 ounces simple syrup (recipe to follow)
Get out your good Ol' Mason Jar and toss in the 5 tea bags and the lemon juice and 8 ounces of gin.
Let this mixture sit covered at room temp all day or overnight (about 8 hours)
To be completely honest, I made mine around noon-ish and was drinking cocktails at 6, so main thing is letting it steep for a few hours at least.
Once you waited long enough: put 2 ounces of gin mixture into martini shaker with ice and a ounce of simple syrup and shake then strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a lemon peel twist,if you wish.
Toast to the Old Country and drink responsibly:)
It has been said that the Queen herself, loves a good martini, she enjoys hers with just gin and a lemon twist.
Simple Syrup
Simple Syrup lives up to its name.
Do not buy because it is ridiculously simple to make:

Now, lets enjoy some pictures of cute and unique martini shakers:
This one cracks me up, you can push a button in case shaking a martini shaker is just too much effort.

These one has to be my favorite:)
