"What the Sam Heck was I thinking not bringing my camera"
I muttered to myself as I looked up at this beautiful site before me.
I guess my poor followers will simply have to bear with a wordy description of this beauty, like my lousy photography skills would capture it anyway.
The site I was and am speaking of, was how I was reaching up into a canopy of peaches covered in rain drops with a ominous sky above.
It was stunning.
Yes, its peach season and (long blissful sigh inserted here) its about time.
To say that I love peaches, really would be a definite understatement.
They are the bomb, folks.
Heaven smells like peaches, and homemade bread....and coffee....and my Grandmas Raviolis...(okay, so apparently my idea of heaven is a large country cafe.... getting off point here)
Anyway, ladies and gents, it was a moment in a day that was made just for me.
I love rain, and everything was covered in nice large dewy drops, making the peaches smell ever so more divine.
The clouds above large and grey, but holding off a little longer just for me.
The orchard owners' dog, Ruby Mae, kept coming out and checking on me, eating an occasional dropped peach and making sure I wasn't stealing too many peaches, which I would always remind her "Your Mom said I could take as many as I would like" whereas she would flop to the ground and yawn.
A shy kitty cat would stroll out and rub on the peach boxes then run away as I tried to pet her.
As I packed my rain drop drenched jewels into the car, this is usually where I would start thinking about all the delicious-ness I would concoct in my kitchen with them, and where I do have some yummy things I do like to make with peaches, a pie, shortcakes and a delish cocktail made with bourbon and peaches, but there is only one recipe that I will be sharing with you today, and its the only one that's really needed when talking about peaches.
Go to Peach Box and pick out a large, juicy looking one.
Go out on front porch and sit on stoop.
Take a large bite out of peach.
Let juice dribble down your chin and arm.
Sigh Blissfully.
Stare out at the fields, and take in the beauty of fading days of summer.
Repeat.
