Truly, Maddly, Deeply.....

Oh, Folks, I am very sorry...
Apparently, I am going to be one of those people, that go on and on about their children, even if they are extremely hairy and probably not that cute to everyone else.
But, Edith has captured our hearts.
Edie, I love the way that you purr when I walk into a room...
I love the way you wake up from a nap and then run around to find me....
I love the way you look at the world (usually upside down, for some reason...)

I love the way you sit on your hind feet and reach up with your front paws when you want to be picked up and cuddled...
I love the way you take your little paw and gently turn my face to look right into your eyes...

I love the way your feet pitter-patter through the house...(actually she kinda gallops...)
I love the way your little paws go around my neck in a perfect fluffy snuggle hug...
Yes, folks, I am completely in love...
Ten days ago this little fur ball tragically came into our lives, I didn't know I needed her, but now that we have her....well, how can we live without our little Edie Lou....??
Alright, enough gushing folks.
I hope you all have a super weekend!!!

~ Cozy ~

There has been moments of cozy here lately...

there has been raindrops and rainbows...

Rainbows gave me a hankering for sprinkles and I just had to make homemade sprinkle cupcakes...

Currently in love with this stove...

And the sweet simpleness of this kitchen..

I am crushing on turquoise...

Totally getting back my Knitting Mo-Jo, baby!

(the rust colored yarn project on the needles is my Knitting Class Project..)

Also, falling deeply in love with this little gal...

Also, trying to figure out this universal love cats have with windows, young and old alike, across the world, they are drawn to windows:)

(Even in France, kitty's like windows:)

There are some moments of coziness in my world lately....are you having some cozy moments, friends?

Happy Monday!

P.S.
I am in the process of making the matches for the socks in my knitting project photo, just wanted to make sure you all knew that they were going to be real pairs someday, not works of art;)

~ Meet Edith Louise ~

Meet Edith Louise.

Or Edie Lou.

She is very,very cute....

She thinks we look funny upside down....

But,usually she is always ready for her closeup...

very close....

She is a funny little gal with her own personality.

Our furry family members have not been overly impressed so far with her, But little Edie doesn't seem to care too much, she is more interested in purring, trying to shred the T.P. roll and going for rides on our shoulder.

She has been to the vet and had her first shots and been wormed and declared healthy except for being slightly malnourished.

Welcome to the pack, Edie, we will love you forever.....

~ Heartache ~

Humans give me Heartaches sometimes.

I am Christian and try to show love to everyone around me at all times, just as Christ loves me at all times.

However, it can be quite a challenge at times....take yesterday for example.....

Yesterday afternoon, I was in my car on my way to my knitting class, the car is all cozy and warm, a soft rain hitting the windshield, I had my favorite sweater on and a good song I was humming too and looking forward to seeing some of my favorite people and playing with yarn.

Come around a corner to spot a man throwing 2 kittens out of his van window.

He soon sees that I see him, and speeds away, running over one of the kittens he just threw out the window.

I fly out of the car and run to her, she is mewing, eyes huge with fright as she is dragging her now bloodied hindquarters to me.

I picked her up and her sibling (who is not injured) and carry them carefully back to my warm car, where the sweet baby died in my arms, with her sibling sitting at her side.

Huge tears are falling down my face as hate and bile are rising in my throat.

Then some words came to my mind "Forgive them Lord, for they no not what they do"

I said this over and over again while clutching that poor baby to my aching heart, her sibling perched on my shoulder.

This is how poor Manly found us, and took us home, where the poor wee one was buried in our yard.

I know God cares for all his animals, He speaks in the Bible of knowing even when a small sparrow falls.

As hard as is was for me to witness and as much as Manly and I want to track down this ignorant idiot, I know also that God can not control the free will of this man, but He can place someone who cares in front of His innocent creatures.

He made sure that kitty did not die alone on cold wet street.

He also made sure that her sibling is cared for.

I will not spend time hating this person for what he has done, instead I will let God deal with him.

I am sorry, dear friends, that this is not a very cheery post today, however my heart is aching, and I had to share my pain.

I will return to share pictures of our new kitten and other cheery things soon.

{A Update}

Here it is October and you may be wondering how I am doing.

Obviously, things have been quite hectic so this update isn't going to be very thrilling.

What have I been reading?

Uh, ahem...nothing...I haven't picked up a book since sometime in April.

I have a pile of magazines a mile high that covers haven't even been cracked.

OK...So, in that case what have you been knitting?

Well, I have done a little better in that area then the reading but not much.

I have knitted two hats this summer and also two socks....unfortunately they weren't the same pair of socks...so now there is two lonely socks sitting there looking all sad and waiting for their mates to be made.

However, I have enrolled in another knitting class that will start the middle of this month, so hopefully I will be getting my knitting Mojo back.

What have you been baking?

Uh, last week I made some cookies and only baked one loaf of bread....

But, this week is supposed to rain everyday, so maybe I can catch up on the baking and also maybe some yummy fall soups will be on the menu too!

So, um, what actually have you done?

Good question, run around dawn to dusk like a chicken with her head cut off, putting up a ton of produce, harvesting beans, harvesting sugar beets, making dinner in 15 minutes (sometimes its a winner, sometimes not so much.... but who cares when you are starving)

What else have you been doing?

Well, I am so happy that you asked,because.....

I have been dreaming of being here...

Dreaming of a cheery pink kitchen...

Wishing I could dress like this everyday...

and this...

(and that I had her car too:)

Smiling over this...

and getting ready for rainy weather this week...

Wanting to make and devour this...

and to decorate my table with this bouquet...

and have been trying to keep this in mind lately...

How are you, dear friends?
