~ Life ~

Life. Has been...Crazy. Winter Wheat is up inches and our peas are just starting to peek out the the ground. But, we also have been having unseasonably warm temperatures. Like 90 during the day and only going down to 70 at night....for my California friends, I know you think I am a huge whiner. But, we just don't see weather like this for a couple more months. We are usually still wearing sweaters and turning up the heat at this time. Not going swimming in the lake, like we did on our Sunday afternoon picnic. Most farmers do not even have water in their canals to start irrigating yet. This craziness and hot temps have left me with a feeling I normally don't start feeling till late June or July...running away to the mountains/woods and camping.... Which would certainly be a cool down since there is still huge amounts of snow up there. But, my introvert mind is being stubborn about this and is continuing to whisper..."Come on...you know you want to go camping...You know you just want to escape from it all..." So, I am hoping this blog post will perhaps shut it up for a bit. or it could possibly make it worse.... I mean, sleeping in the woods just sounds divine...
And look at these happy folks, and the perfect coiffured wife, not a hair out of place, her tight white sweater doesn't have a single smudge of dirt or bacon grease splatter. She is just gleeful.
To stop and only hear your own breathing, not tractors scrambling and machinery.
To hang my laundry in air that isn't laden with field chemicals and dust everywhere.
Okay, so I am whining. WaaaWaaa, its hot, WaaWaaaaa, its dusty! Waaaaa, Its noisy. Its okay to tell me to get over myself.... But, I might not hear you...I might be running away to the mountains:) Happy Tuesday, Friends!

  1. Poor Girlie! I hear you... I'm here in crazy-weather San Diego, where it's been the same. Grey, hot, cold, sunny, rainy, WEIRD! The weather is disconcerting. Being a woman of a certain age, I guess I'm a tad set in my ways in what I expect from the weather. :o) And of course, I'm a little whiny, too! ;) Hope it all evens out soon, for us both! Take care, Robin

  2. You're allowed 15 minutes to whaa whaa...
Then...bust out the calendar and mark the dates you'll be camping
Until then, pitch a tent along side the peas for me because farm life sounds pretty darn good to this girl:-)..Manly on a tractor?
Doesn't get much better than that.

  3. We've had very strange weather too! Must be the way of things . . . though 90 in April sounds way too hot in my book! I can't imagine how much work a farm must be. I am already way over my head with my home and garden and children and cats and wonderings . . . growing crops and running a farm? It is so out of my league! (though I day dream about it . . .) May the LORD bless each and every effort in these busy spring days!

  5. Weather is weird everywhere, I think. But, yeah, when it gets warm, you want to go camping! Traveling in the motorhome, we're in TX right now, and it's just beautiful. We sit out every night so that Shasta, our princess dog, can be an animal for a while every day.
I know, we have the best of both worlds, and I'm very grateful. :)
